Project 2020 & Kreaktiv are very happy to announce you that the project we applied to the European Commission, Erasmus + Programme has been approved. The Youth Exchange ‘Organic Farming 4 YOUth!!!’ will take place in Kavadarci, Macedonia 14th – 28th of May 2016.
About the Youth Exchange
Organic Farming 4 YOUth!!! is a project / Youth Exchange to promote organic and sustainable farming amongst young people as well as empower young people with the ability to develop sustainable farming projects in their communities. Through the development of Urban and Rural farming projects such as allotments, keyhole gardens and small scale organic farming. This will be conducted with 24 participants within a 14 day youth exchange.
The exchange will consist of urban farming, visit to farms, building raised beds, working on allotments and outdoor activities. The participants will experience rural life in Cardiff as well as the benefits and problems within the urban farming community there in a 14 day period. The exchange will conclude with an influential ‘Keyhole Gardens Training Day’ as well as an Exhibition to help develop personal skills and sense of entrepreneurship.
The exchange will use non-formal and informal educations methods to combat the cultural barriers that may occur during the exchange, promote team work and critical thinking, develop a sense of European citizenship and highlight the need for a sustainable lifestyle. The project will aim to develop ways of inclusion in organic farming such as inclusion of those with disabilities, from socially vulnerable backgrounds, ethnic minorities and combating gender discrimination.
The programme of the Youth Exchange will be in the framework of non-formal education, using an interactive and participative approach. A team of experienced youth workers will design and carry out the programme of the course. The course will give participants the opportunity to experience, and reflect upon activities and concepts crucial in understanding and developing farming projects. The programme is designed as a mutual learning situation in which participants can learn from each other and from the experiences they encounter during the exchange.

The working language of the training will be English. Applicants must have sufficient understanding of the working language in order to comprehend and complete this application form without assistance from another person.

There is a participation fee of 10 euros payable to creACTive upon departure.
Travel cost and reimbursement:
Please do not make any reservation of tickets before you get a confirmation of participation for the youth exchange. 100% of travel costs will be reimbursed only for the cheapest way of transport. The travel cost will be reimbursed, after submitting all original tickets and invoices.
All participants will be reimbursed after submitting all original tickets and receipts. The travel reimbursement will not be done on the spot, but after the return of the participants to their homes and after they send the original tickets to the hosting organization. The participants should use the cheapest way of transport (Bus, Train, plane-economic class). WizzAir.com has the cheapest flights from the UK to Macedonia. However, please note that there are cheap flights to Sofia-Bulgaria, Belgrade-Serbia, and Thessaloniki-Greece from where you can get a bus/train to Macedonia.
