In the last 5th December, the International Volunteer Day was celebrated across the world. On this day, plenty of NGOs pay special tribute to everyone who spends time trying to make a difference and to promote peace and development.
In Kavadarci, CreACTive provided a diverse range of activities to celebrate this important date. During the morning, our association stood in the main square to provide information and entertainment to the locals. CreACTive was recreated with dynamic games and art activities. The youngsters of Kavadarci also showed their talent through a rock concert and a hip-hop performance.*
To close that day, an after party was organized in the youth center. We had a productive discussion about volunteering and European Voluntary Service, a projection of video made by two EVS volunteers, and, as usual, we sang and danced.
“It was a very emotional day: I saw the progress that kids made, I loved their performance. I am happy that I was able to be with them when they were practicing. My colleagues made a great job and the video almost made me cry.” – Gare Heinmäe, Etonia, EVS Volunteer @Kreaktiv
“I was really happy with the way things went because it’s a great feeling to watch young people to work really hard with something and watch them achieving what they set out to do. I felt privileged to be a part of it and I’m happy spent such a great day with really great people. I just feel proud of the dedication of the young people and of our team”. – Sheila Quigley, Ireland, EVS Volunteer @Kreaktiv.
